It’s that time of year . . .

For some, Spring Break has passed. For some, it is yet to come. Either way, Spring Break is the start of one thing and that is nice weather. The longer hours of sunlight, the lack of snow, the trees with leaves on them and the grass that is actually green. These are the good things that come with the warm weather brought about by Spring Break.

The bad thing . . . it’s time to find the perfect bathing suit yet again. This is usually a touchy topic for many girls. Are one-pieces too clingy, do my boobs like ok in this triangle-top, is this sticking out over here or is that poking out back there? These are just some of the problems girls run into while going on that dreaded shopping trip. (If you are one of those girls who look good in any bathing suit . . . well . . . I’m jealous). But for the majority of you girls with a normal shape and curves, we’ve done some shopping for you in order to give you some options for your big shopping trip:

This is the Bows and Whistles 1-piece swimsuit by Betsey Johnson. This suit is great because it’s a hybrid suit. It is open in the middle, making it more comfortable for different body types. At the same time, the little piece of fabric located down the center of the stomach covers just enough to give you some added security. This look is highly fashionable and the price is not too bad either. Girls with bigger chests may not fit well into this suit. $140 at www.betseyjohnson.com.

This La Blanca by Rod Beattie Halter Bikini is a great 2-piece for the busty, curvy woman. The thick band under the bust and on the hips help you avoid any possible “bulging” in those areas. The color is simple and goes with any skin tone. This suit is relatively inexpensive and really can make you look great $59 for the top and $57 for the bottom at www.nordstrom.com

This is another piece from La Blanca by Rod Beattie. 1-piece suits are so hot right now, and this is 1-piece that has it all. Hot color, great fit, sexy cut. No one can look bad in this suit, no matter what your body type may be. $117 at www.nordstrom.com

This is a bright 2-piece from Urban Outfitters. The underwire in the cups along with the lace trimming are not only attractive, but very complimenting. This suit would probably work best on a more curvy-on-the-bottom girl who has a smaller chest. It’s a steal! $48 for the top and $37 for the bottom only at www.urbanoutfitters.com

Guys, I know you think that you have no problems when it comes to bathing suit shopping. That’s because, you simply do not do it. No, shorts don’t count as swimwear. Neither do underwear under loose shorts that we have to be exposed to the second your shorts get wet and therefore become see-through. If there is no “support” in there, if you know what I mean, then we do not want to see you in it. Invest in a good suit, please, for the sake of everyone that has to see you! Here are a few ideas guys:

These Penguin board shorts are $65 at www.nordstrom.com. These shorts have a nice pattern, darker colors (good for when you get wet), and a good length.

These The North Face board shorts are $65 at www.nordstrom.com. They have a timeless camo pattern, again dark and long.

Boys, please invest in a nice suit. You will be more comfortable and we will be more comfortable in your presence.

Happy warm weather and happy bathing suit shopping!
